Development of NTB Elimination Index 2012-2013
The EABC has recently published the Business Climate Index (BCI) 2011. The survey collects actual evidence of incidences and impacts of NTBs to intra-EAC trade in terms of ports, customs, immigration, police, weighbridges, technical standards, SPS, business registration and licensing procedures, and administrative requirements.
Development of an NTB Elimination Index would be a powerful tool to commit the Partner States to do more to eliminate NTBs as required by the EAC Customs Union Protocol. Rwanda NMC is working on the content of the Index with the support of TMEA technical assistance
